March 20th - International Day of Happiness - often evokes many different perspectives on the value of family life.
For former volleyball player Pham Thi Yen and her husband - a former beauty of Vietnamese women's volleyball, happiness is not understood according to great criteria but starts from how both maintain cohesion in daily life.
Sharing his views, Mr. Dang Duc Chung - Pham Thi Yen's husband said: "As long as it is a viewpoint, it is consistent, unchanged, I just want my husband and I to always share and accompany each other, only then can we understand and sympathize, and keep the fire of happiness.

According to Mr. Chung, at the present time, family happiness is not limited to achievements or material conditions, but lies in stability and what is present.
Our happiness now is a peaceful life, healthy parents and family members, and especially preparing the mindset and posture to welcome a new member. Happiness is not about having everything, but about cherishing what we have," Mr. Chung expressed.

As for Pham Thi Yen, life after marriage also brings many changes. She no longer keeps deciding alone as before, but switches to exchanging and agreeing with her husband before each choice.
Therefore, the pace of life must also be rearranged to balance work and family, which is not easy for someone who is used to a professional sports environment.
In return, Pham Thi Yen finds comfort in her husband's family, where she can ask and exchange directly with her parents-in-law without feeling distance.
Regular attention, from inquiries to small stories in daily life, helps the former player easily adapt to a new role.
Besides, there is the companionship from the husband. Despite being busy with work, Mr. Chung still maintains the habit of caring, taking advantage of time to be with his wife in daily activities.

For Pham Thi Yen, those are not great things, but enough to create a sense of peace of mind in common life.
Trust, sharing and mutual respect are the most important things in marriage. Husband and wife need to create a sense of emotional security for each other.
Dialogue may not help you understand each other completely immediately, but it will help grasp your thoughts, thereby empathizing and agreeing with each other in both work and life," Pham Thi Yen shared.
From another perspective, she also admits that she is learning to change: "No matter how strong or successful a woman is, she always hopes her husband is her support.
There are times when women need to be weak, unable to decide everything themselves. I am learning to share more, so that my husband can show responsibility and the role of pillar in the family.
Behind the family story of former player Pham Thi Yen and her husband Dang Duc Chung, happiness appears not as a destination, but as a process of adjusting, listening to and maintaining connection together.
