According to Huu Phu, he and his wife spent a year and a half preparing for the traditional wedding, from the costumes to the traditional Southern rituals. The wedding ao dai that the couple brought to the show was the traditional costume they wore at the wedding ceremony.
One of the highlights of the wedding was the bride's hat, which was over 100 years old.
Not only the bride and groom, but also the parents of both sides and those participating in the wedding procession all wear traditional Southern-style five-panel ao dai.
Huu Phu said his passion for traditional culture stems from growing up with his grandfather, who told him many stories about traditional Southern values.
Since he was a child, he had dreamed of having a wedding in the ancient style as he had heard about. It was not until he was 30 that Phu had the opportunity to realize this dream.
His passion for traditional culture does not stop at weddings, but is also evident in his daily activities, in his work teaching fine arts, and in his oil painting in the traditional Southern style.
As for Ngoc Trang, although she grew up in a more modern family environment, she also expressed her interest and agreement with her husband's decisions related to traditional culture.
She affirmed that the choice to organize a classic-style wedding was not only because of her husband but also because she truly loves and cherishes those traditional values.
Currently, the couple lives in Ben Tre, where Huu Phu and his family have restored his grandfather's ancient house to turn it into a cultural tourist destination.
The house was rebuilt in 2018 and completed at the end of 2023, with Mr. Phu actively participating in the design and decoration. This is part of his journey to preserve and develop Southern culture.
As for Ngoc Trang, she also supports her family and her husband's career and passion. Both husband and wife affirm that they are very satisfied with their current life and do not have any major conflicts in the way they run their family and work.
