According to the list of candidates proposed by the Grassroots Professorship Council to be recognized as meeting the standards for the title of Professor (GS) and Associate Professor (PGS) in 2025, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan is the only singer to participate.
This list was published on the website of the State Council of Professors from September 8.
The Council of Professors of the Interdisciplinary Culture - Arts - Physical Education and Sports approved 16 dossiers, of which the Arts sector only has 3 dossiers. Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan stands out as the only female singer proposed to be considered for the title of Associate Professor.
Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan (full name Nguyen Thi Tan Nhan) was born in 1982, graduated from the Music major, majoring in Vocal Music at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in 2010.
The female singer won the first prize in the folk music category of the Sao Mai 2005 contest. Since then, Tan Nhan has been active in the music industry, releasing many music products in folk music, red music, and revolutionary music.
After graduating from high school with a major inClassical chamber Music, Tan Nhan became a lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, currently holding the position of Head of the Vocal Music Department.
The female singer received her PhD in Music in 2019. At that time, Tan Nhan was the youngest doctor of music in Vietnam.
Previously, when talking to Lao Dong reporter, Tan Nhan shared: "What I am most proud of myself is that I have pursued to the end of my studies. To go on the same journey to both school and work is certainly not easy.
It was true that I had to make a trade-off. I didn't have the time to be a student like my friends. I had a fierce childhood. I did not have a true youth, which is to live all my passion, not think about anything... I have matured early, aged before the age, and thought ahead of schedule.
With more than 16 years of training, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan has achieved many remarkable achievements: published 14 scientific articles (including 2 articles in international journals), published 2 books, 3/13 works of art won national prizes, along with 6 individual prizes and 17 guiding prizes.
In addition, the female singer was also awarded 2 certificates of merit by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (in 2020) and won the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level twice (2018, 2024).
