On September 25, Dispatch Korea published a series of documents when it reported that Mr. Lee Jae Hyun, Chairman of CJ Group, was involved in organizing private parties with the participation of female guests including entertainment industry staff and influencers. All were paid.
Dispatch has revealed a sophisticated and confidential process for selecting young girls to participate in events that are described as private DJ parties.
The participants had to go through a strict censorship round, organized in a similar style to famous K-pop idol selection programs.
After receiving the initial invitation via direct text message, the potential female guests were asked to attend a face-to-face meeting to evaluate their appearance.
Those who pass this round will receive instructions on attire including: "wearing black socks", "wearing high heels from 9cm or more".
They will receive a series of secret instructions to get to the party venue. According to Dispatch, this process includes visiting a hospital for COVID-19 testing, before being directed to the final location through a directionslide.
When entering the event, the visitors' mobile phones were confiscated.
The female guests had to dance on stage for the CEO - who also directly took on the role of DJ. According to the source, these women were paid cash after the party ended, with different remunerations.
A source revealed to Dispatch: There are messages saying that girls have to practice dancing to catch the presidents blue eye. When he entered, everyone had to stand up to greet him.
The person also added: Each guest was paid about 2 million won in cash, and the most beautiful dancer at the party that day would be kept private.
Dispatch also said that a group of women called time guests will be given priority to attend more exclusive parties, even private trips, with much higher salaries.
Dispatch conducted a 2-month investigation, interviewing 8 sources to clarify the allegation. According to Dispatch, each party is estimated to cost at least 20 million won (equivalent to about $14,179).
South Korea's Investing newspaper reported on the incident, citing CJ Group as saying: "Whether or not to organize a party is a matter of personal life, so it is difficult to verify the authenticity. The company does not have an official stance on this issue.
