Lan Phuong wins custody of 2 children
On the afternoon of September 17, the Hanoi People's Court tried the divorce case between actress Lan Phuong and her husband David Duffy.
The two officially divorced after 7 years of living together and have 2 daughters together.
In court, Lan Phuong said that when she was pregnant with her first child, she discovered her husband going to a bar, texting to flirt with other women and often mentally abusing and psychologically manipulating them. After many conflicts, in May, the actress filed for a unilateral divorce.
David Duffy denied the abuse and claimed his wife suffered from postpartum depression.
The focus of the trial was the dispute over the custody of two daughters, 7 years and 18 months old.
Regarding childcare costs, Lan Phuong presented the actual figure of about 1.4 billion VND/year, while David Duffy's income is estimated at 1.92 billion VND, David is still renting a house.
The actress affirmed that she is living in an apartment with her own name, has real estate for rent of 32 million VND per month and her own company, and has an annual income of about 7 billion VND from movies, advertising, and business, and is eligible to directly raise her children.
Finally, Lan Phuong was given custody of the two children by the court. The court also noted that the agreement between the two parties on childcare expenses is 40 million VND/month until the children grow up, or the two sides have a new agreement.
When leaving the trial, David Duffy said he would appeal.
Lan Phuong's life before divorce
