Part 2 of the Korean drama Weak Hero Class is receiving a warm response when released on Netflix.
Recently, director Yoo Soo Min and the cast of both part 1 and part 2 had a meeting with the media and the audience.
In the interview, Park Ji Hoon, the actor who plays the main role of Yeon Si Eun, was asked how he feels when meeting familiar faces again.
Park Ji Hoon replied, They are so special friends that even if you want to forget them, you cant. Like searching for them unconsciously... For Si Eun, it was like a first love.
The MC then pointed to actor Choi Hyun Wook, who played Ahn Su Ho in The Weak Hero part 1, and said, Your first love is smiling next to you.
Park Ji Hoon further explained that for a person like Si Eun, friendship is everything. Not only loyal, Si Eun and Su Ho also have an emotional connection. Su Ho is the only person who has ever truly seen Si Eun, even his parents could not understand him the way Su Ho could.
Along with Park Ji Hoon's sharing, director Yoo Soo Min also revealed shocking information about the relationship between the two characters Si Eun and Su Ho - a close friend in part 1.
According to director Yoo Soo Min, he oriented the relationship between the two as love: I think they are in love. I told the two actors that this was almost like a psychological drama. I oriented the film for that feeling.
When hearing the director's sharing, Park Ji Hoon could not hide his surprised face.
Choi Hyun Wook then continued to mention Si Eun and Su Ho's relationship as "love for high school students", but he quickly stopped answering because he felt he had gone too far.
In The Weak Hero part 1, Su Ho fell into a coma after being gang-raped for siding with Si Eun. In part 2, when Si Eun moved to a new school, he was still haunted because he could not protect his friend.
But at the end of "The Weak Hero 2", the audience burst into tears with the scene where Su Ho woke up and met Si Eun.
In this scene, Si Eun smiled rarely, her eyes were filled when she saw her best friend after a long time. Su Ho was also happy for Si Eun because he had found new friends, not alone.
After only 3 days of release, The Weak Hero 2 recorded 6.1 million views, reaching the Top 1 of Netflixs weekly best-selling non-English-language TV show rankings.
