The death of 4 Vietnamese people in Taiwan (China) is likely due to poisoning.

On May 6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that according to information from the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, Taiwan (China), on the night of May 3, 2025, local authorities discovered 4 Vietnamese citizens dead in an apartment in Dao Vien city.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directed the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, Taiwan (China) to urgently work with local authorities to verify information related to the incident as well as the identities of the victims, closely coordinate with Taiwan (China) during the investigation.

Preliminary assessment shows that this is likely to be a poisoning accident. At the same time, the Consular Department (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) also worked with relevant domestic authorities to verify personal information to promptly notify the victims' families.

In the coming time, the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei, Taiwan (China) will continue to closely monitor the investigation of the case and take protective measures, supporting the victims' families in carrying out funeral procedures.
