According to Korean media, director and screenwriter Lee Jung Sub was accused by a legal team representing the alliance of fans of actor Kim Soo Hyun.
Doa Law Firm confirmed that it had received a notice from Gangnam Police Station (Seoul) stating that the case had been transferred to the Prosecutor's Office, after investigators concluded that there were grounds for the allegations.
The complaint stated that Lee Jung Sub had spread on social networks statements calling Kim Soo Hyun a "child sexual abuser", seriously damaging the actor's reputation.
Police are said to have concluded that the charges are eligible for prosecution. However, transferring the file does not mean determining guilt, because the Procuracy will continue to consider and decide whether to prosecute officially or not.
Lee Jung Sub continues to post online articles about the controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun and the movie "Real", as well as allegations related to the late actress Kim Sae Ron.
He also made comments alluding to collusion between the entertainment industry, media and legal circles. In many posts, Lee Jung Sub is said to have shared other people's accusations about Kim Soo Hyun, along with comments such as "the same script".

Previously, Lee Jung Sub spoke about the production process of "Real", saying he did not have the official status to explain, because he was not named as the director of the film. But he still posted articles about public auditions or the casting process.
The movie "Real" released in 2017, had many problems in production after Lee Jung Sub withdrew in the final stage.
Controversy erupted more strongly after the sudden departure of Kim Sae Ron (February 2025). The family of the late actor then made many accusations against Kim Soo Hyun through a YouTube channel. In which, Kim Sae Ron's family declared that Kim Soo Hyun dated the late actor when she was a minor.
Kim Soo Hyun's side rejected all accusations and filed a lawsuit with charges of slander, slander, and violation of the law against surveillance. The actor has also filed a civil lawsuit, requesting compensation of about 12 billion won.
According to media reports, the outcome of Lee Jung Sub's case will depend on the investigation process and the legal interpretation of the prosecution in the near future.
