On February 7, according to the Government Electronic Information Portal, the Ministry of National Defense has just decided to establish Warehouse KT890 as a level 1 warehouse, equivalent to a brigade level, under the Department of Military Technology, Engineer Corps, General Department of Logistics - Technology.
The warehouse has the function of advising and proposing to the Party Committee and commanders of the Technical Department of the army and armed services on the work of receiving, distributing, storing, preserving, maintaining, sealing, and repairing modern and new generation technical weapons and equipment for many important technical specialties.
Including missiles, aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, ships, information, radar, optoelectronic equipment, tanks and armored vehicles and other types of technical weapons and equipment, technical supplies when assigned; and organize implementation according to plan.
At the decision announcement ceremony, Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc emphasized that the establishment of Warehouse KT890 is an inevitable need, meeting the requirements of technical assurance in modern combat conditions for military and armed services throughout the army.
The Head of the General Department of Logistics and Technology also requested agencies and units in the General Department to continue to pay attention, guide and create all favorable conditions for Warehouse KT890 to soon stabilize its organization, staff, personnel, materials, and techniques.
Warehouse KT890 needs to urgently start performing its tasks, proactively advise and propose to the Technical Department of the Army and military branches key tasks in 2026 and the following years.
The announcement of the decision to establish Warehouse KT890 is an important milestone, showing the concern of the Party, State and Vietnam People's Army for technical and logistical assurance work; contributing to consolidating the organization of forces, improving technical assurance capacity for military and national defense tasks, building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnam People's Army.
