JoyNews24 magazine has just announced the results of a survey conducted from October 13-19, voting for the most shocking scandals in the Korean entertainment industry in 2025.
The survey involved 110 experts in the entertainment industry, including employees of entertainment and broadcasting companies, film and content producers, and journalists.
Every year, the entertainment industry often surprises with rumors of dating, marriage, breakup and divorce. But this year, an unprecedented scandal has occurred, which is the case of actor Kim Soo Hyun being accused of dating the late actor Kim Sae Ron since she was a minor.
This scandal shocked the entertainment industry and led to a persistent legal battle. 21 experts voted this as the most shocking scandal of the year.
The incident exploded when Kim Sae Ron's family and YouTube channel Garosero (headed by Kim Se Ui) posted videos accusing Kim Soo Hyun of dating Kim Sae Ron for 6 years (2015-2021).
Kim Se Ui stated that the intimate photo of Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun that the actor posted and deleted immediately after (in March 2024) was a photo taken in 2016, when she was a minor. After that, Kim Se Ui revealed more photos and text messages, saying that these were evidence of their 6-year dating.
In response, Kim Soo Hyun denied the accusation. He announced that he had only been dating Kim Sae Ron for about a year (2019-2020), when she was an adult.
But Kim Se Ui did not stop, Garosero channel released an audio recording that was said to be by Kim Sae Ron, revealing that she had sex with Kim Soo Hyun when she was only 15 years old. Kim Soo Hyun's side continued to deny and claim that the recording was forged using AI technology.
Kim Soo Hyun and management company Gold Medalist have sued Kim Se Ui and the family of the late actor Kim Sae Ron for defamation, spreading false information, and demanding compensation of 12 billion won.
The "Queen of Tears" star also sued Kim Se Ui for slander for for forging the recording.
Kim Soo Hyun himself suffered great losses due to this scandal. He lost many advertising contracts, and the movie "Knock-off" was postponed indefinitely. The police's investigation was delayed, so there are still no results.
The second shocking incident after Kim Soo Hyun's scandal, receiving 15 votes, was when actress Lee Si Young announced that she was pregnant with her ex-husband's child after the divorce.
The divorce of actor Hong Jin Kyung "Why did you come here" ranked 3rd in the vote with 14 votes.
