Based on the famous webtoon of the same name, "Yumi's Cells" tells the story of Yumi (Kim Go Eun) - a normal office worker, with her inner world expressed through "cells" controlling thoughts and emotions.
In season 3, the character enters a new phase when he becomes a successful writer, and also opens up a relationship with Soon Rok (Kim Jae Won) - a young editor at a publishing house.
With "Yumi's Cells 3", the characteristic of the film series is still maintained when combining real life and 3D animation, creating a close but new storytelling style. Everyday slices in Yumi's work and love continue to bring a familiar and empathetic feeling to the audience.
The noteworthy point in this season lies in the way of exploiting love affairs in a more realistic direction. Despite achieving success in her career, Yumi is still struggling in relationships.
The appearance of Soon Rok - a straightforward, rational but somewhat dry person - changes her life. The "love - hate" relationship between the two characters is expected to become a highlight when the clashes gradually turn into emotional vibrations.
Besides the content, acting continues to be a highly anticipated element. Kim Go Eun - after two seasons accompanying the character, is expected to maintain her form with a natural, flexible acting style. Meanwhile, Kim Jae Won brings a new color with a calm male lead image, different from the previous season.
Supporting cast such as Jeon Suk Ho, Choi Daniel, Jo Hye Jung, Mi Ram and Park Se In contribute to completing the story with diverse character lines. The appearance of Sung Ji Ru, Yoon Yoo Sun, Lee Yu Bi and Chansung (2PM) also adds highlights to season 3.
Sharing about the work, director Lee Sang Yeob said: "Unlike previous relationships, this time everything - from the process, speed to the reason - is different. This is a relationship where emotions vibrate and anger coexist".
Meanwhile, screenwriter Song Jae Jung emphasized the character's journey of maturity: "Yumi has experienced many emotions such as regret, fear, loneliness, but still continues to move forward and dares to love again".
Screenwriter Kim Kyung Ran also sent a message about self-worth: "Like Yumi, everyone has'cells' towards happiness inside. Remember that and continue to try".
The movie "Yumi's Cells 3" is scheduled to air on the evening of April 13.
