Recently, the song "Say a lifetime for you" sung by AI is "causing a fever" on social networks. Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, Hua Kim Tuyen frankly expressed her views on the issue of AI in composing music, "songing" like a singer.
Hua Kim Tuyen is the Music Director of Chi dep dap gia season 2.

How do you feel about the trend of AI participating in composing and " Speaking out" like a singer?
- I think every era produces something new and forces all creatives to accept the game.
In the past, musicians had to write music notes and play the instruments. As digital technology develops, many people, even without music, can still make beats ( beats), creating melodies on software. This was once opposed because it was thought to lose the academic import of music.
Then when rap appeared, people said rap was out of rhythm, out of beauty in music, because the lyrics of rap were too life. But in the end, rap was still well received, becoming a part of popular music.
I consider AI a tool of the times. It has penetrated into life: instead of asking for advice, I can ask ChatGPT; AI also creates images, music, design... No matter who contributes, AI still exists as a part of society. We must accept that the last victim is us. Therefore, as a creator, I choose to accept the playing rules of AI.
But there must be two sides to AI's music composition?
- I see AI as the same as any other problem in the world: Everything has two sides, good and bad.
I couldn't avoid it, so instead of just looking at the negative side, I chose to look at the positive side.
First of all, I have to admit that AI does quite well in many fields. Therefore, it creates a positive pressure for artists.
Because if I only write empty lines for enough articles, or create simple melodies, AI can do it.
This forces musicians who truly want to pursue a career to invest in gray matter, to seek and shape their own color, to develop their personal mark to be different from what AI creates.
I know many artists, both in Vietnam and around the world, have used AI to support their work. That's okay, as long as we consider AI as a tool. When the secret idea can be suggested by AI, it can develop into its own quality.

What is your opinion about AI-composed music?
- AI is just a technology that synthesizes and processes what it already has, without personal memories or breath of life, nor possesses a separate perspective.
Therefore, the lyrics written by AI are often general and lack emotional depth. And that is the land left for real artists: bringing new experiences, emotions, and perspectives that machines cannot replace.
Have you tried composing music with the help of AI?
- I see that AI has not supported me much in composition. I joked that I must have enhanced all 10 AIs at once.
Although I have tried, even bought a high-end version, AI still writes very generally, everywhere, and lacks concateness, only occasionally having a few sentences that make me "olate" for fun.
To have a satisfactory temporary result, I had to enter all types of commands, try to withdraw to hundreds of demo (attachments). In the end, I found it more time-consuming than self-composing.
But I can't deny that AI has its own strengths.
I think people should also look at AI as a powerful assistant to help them do better, better, instead of considering it a threat or opponent.
What do you think about some singers who don't want to spend money to buy rights so they use AI-composed music to sing?
- There are singers who are not qualified to invest in products so they should choose AI support, that is not wrong. But if we only rely on AI, creativity will stop at that level.
When everyone uses the same tool, "standard" becomes parity. To be more outstanding, they still have to find a producer to put human breath into the product.
I believe that over time, many artists will realize that working with producers and real people always brings more excitement, depth and co-creativity than machines. As it turns out, I personally am not afraid of AI.
In your opinion, what is the limit that AI can hardly overcome compared to humans?
- It is true that AI is developing very quickly and the future is unpredictable. But through observing the past 2 years, I see it still stopping at a certain level: no emotions, no experience - the factors that make up people and art.
No matter how developed, AI will find it difficult to overcome that limit.
On the contrary, artists who do not want to think, just compose erratically will feel scared, because AI can do exactly that.
But that is also a signal that forces each person to improve themselves, to invest more so that the product has its own mark, has true breath and emotions.
