This morning, September 12, HYBE held an extraordinary shareholders' meeting and appointed Mr. Lee Jae Sang as internal director.
Immediately after the meeting, Mr. Lee shared about the noise surrounding NewJeans' livestream.
"It will take time, but we are responding calmly and principledly. HYBE is a company that keeps principles, a company that pursues proper management, and this will not change. Those who keep principles are the ultimate winners," director Lee told reporters from The Bell.
According to The Bell, this sharing of Director Lee indirectly rejected NewJeans' request. At the same time, he affirmed the separation between production and management in the process of operating the multi-brand system as well as maintaining a firm stance in handling situations related to ADOR.
In addition, Mr. Lee also affirmed that in his new position, he will do his best to ensure HYBE's leading position in the entertainment business in the future.
Previously on September 11, 5 members of the group NewJeans livestreamed on their own YouTube channel without going through the management company and requested that Min Hee Jin be brought back to the position of CEO of ADOR before September 25. Currently, fans are very worried about the future of NewJeans. With HYBE's latest move, it is very likely that the 5 members of NewJeans will face a lawsuit related to the contract.
