IU's EDAM Entertainment management company (Lee Ji Eun) said that the female singer has donated a total of 200 million won under the name "IUAENA" (a combination of IU's name and her fan community, UAENA).
The donations were divided equally among 4 organizations: Hope Joyagdol, National Center for Children's Rights, Happygiver and Ddadong. Each organization received 50 million won.
This donation will be used to support the lives of poor families and lonely elderly people; cover social housing costs for teenagers preparing to be independent; support finance, medical and educational costs for single families; improve facilities and advanced support equipment for people with disabilities.
IU is an artist known for regularly doing charity work, donating under the name "IUAENA" on special occasions such as birthdays, launch anniversaries, year-end holidays and New Year's Day.
Earlier this year, she donated 200 million won to support victims of a large-scale forest fire in the Gyeongsang area and improve treatment for firefighters.
On Children's Day 5.5 in Korea, the female singer continued to donate 150 million won to support adolescents to prepare for independent living and improve living conditions for children with disabilities.
With its latest donation, IU's total charitable donation in 2025 has reached 550 million won (about 10 billion VND).
Meanwhile, IU is preparing to release a remake album Flower Bookmark 3 on May 27, marking her first remade music project in 8 years.
This is also IU's comeback after 1 year and 3 months as a singer, since her 6th mini album "The Winning" was released in February last year.
In addition, as an actor, after the success of the Netflix series "When Life Is for You" released on Netflix, IU is filming a new MBC drama "Wife of a 21st Century Prince."
She starred with actor Byeon Woo Seok. The film is expected to air in early 2026.
