According to Allkpop, on May 15, a photo that was said to be of BTS member V and female singer IU having a meal together at a luxury restaurant in Seoul quickly went viral on online communities and social media.
The person who posted the photo affirmed: "I have seen V. I am always calm no matter when meeting a celebrity. But V is different, I'm not even a fan of him, but he really doesn't look like an ordinary person.
His skin was 100% smooth, his face was all eyes. I'm still surprised, but at least I took a photo."
In the photo, V is wearing a simple black T-shirt, he is sitting opposite a woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a purple-pink shirt.
Fans speculate that the woman was IU, because the plaid shirt and bucket hat were very similar to the singer's usual style.
Some audiences even compared it to the image of IU wearing a similar shirt, saying that it was one of her favorite shirts.
Other comments suggested that IU and V may have dinner to celebrate IU's 32nd birthday on May 16.
Previously, V and IU had a close relationship after collaborating on a music project. V appeared as the male lead in IU's MV "Love Wins All" released in January 2024. The MV was filmed right before the male singer enlisted in the army at the end of 2023.
The chemical reactions of V and IU have received many positive reviews. Fans expect that the two artists will soon have a song with a common voice, not just stopping at V participating in acting in IU's MV.
Meanwhile, V began his mandatory military service in December 2023, the same day as BTS member RM. He is currently serving in the Special Forces (SDT) of the Military Police Brigade, under the 2nd Corps Command.
In the army, the male singer had an excellent performance with many good achievements and was rewarded.
V received the Outstanding Rookie Award at the Nonsan Military Training Center. He was later awarded the title of Special Forces Soldier and promoted early to the rank of Sergeant.
V is expected to be discharged from the army on June 10, along with RM. While the other two members of BTS, Jimin and Jungkook, will be discharged from the military on June 11.
