In a recent episode of tvN's "You Quiz on the Block", Jennie (Blackpink) appeared as a guest and shared about the impact of the busy schedule on her health.
Just 3 years after its debut (2016), Blackpink has embarked on a world tour and performed at major festivals around the world.
Jennie said her schedule doubled after releasing her first solo single (2019), leaving her no time to take care of herself.
I have lost a lot of weight, suffered continuous injuries to my ankles and my health has been declining. After my debut, I just kept running forward. I hardly go out, and that makes things mentally difficult.
Even though I hear good things on air, I cant have the conversations I like with the people I love. That made me feel like I was not doing my job well, the female singer shared.
Jennie recalled a particularly dark period: I started to look at things in a negative way. One day, my energy was almost zero.
Decribing herself as a person of feelings, Jennie was overwhelmed by negative emotions. "There was a time when negative emotions took over everything. I did not say or act like myself. There are times when I feel like I can hurt the people I care about," she said.
However, following the members of Blackpink helped Jennie look back at herself: "Everyone is doing their own thing and moving forward, and I kept wondering why I was so stuck."
The turning point came during the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing Blackpink to take a long break. During that time, Jennie immersed herself in new interests and re-evaluated her priorities.
Up to now, after establishing her own company and working independently, the female singer has realized that "health must be a top priority".
Recently, Jennie has continuously attracted attention when she became a solo performer at the Coachella music festival and appeared at the famous fashion event Met Gala 2025.
Fans believe that the female singer had explosive performances because she cared more about health issues, always enjoyed the stage and was herself. Jennie's confidence and being able to freely do what she likes have made Jennie's career grow.
