Episode 17 of "Spacetime" aired on the evening of December 23rd, opening the scene after Lieutenant Colonel Le Nguyen Dai (Manh Truong), Tam (Le Bong) and the people found the three children.
Teacher Tam Tam was asked by Hanh why she was not moved by Tai even though Tai had been pursuing her for a long time. Her friend asked if Tam did not like Tai, would she like Dai? Tam shyly denied but could not hide her special feelings for Dai.
Afterwards, Hanh felt grateful because Tam was not born in the village, but always suffered and sacrificed to teach children. Tam said that she was not lonely because there were many people accompanying and caring for her.
At Dai's unit, Hung (Duy Khanh) is surprised when his father - Mr. Cuong (NSND Trung Anh) - comes to the unit. However, the relationship between Hung and his father is not harmonious even though he is also a soldier.
Mr. Cuong did not drink the water his son offered him, blaming Hung for not coming home for 3 months. “To be honest, I heard that you have a lover here. That is why you do not want to transfer your job closer, right? Contribution anywhere is contribution, wherever you work is serving the country, serving the people,” Hung’s father questioned.
However, Hung said that his work at the unit really needed him. Mr. Cuong's appearance was like a threat to Hung and Hanh's love.
When he learned that Hanh was a Thai ethnic, the daughter of a nurse who had worked in the military, Mr. Cuong was devastated. He then went to Hanh's house and discovered that Hanh's mother was the girl he had loved in the past.
During the war years, he had deep feelings for his comrade named Hoi. Mr. Cuong promised to look for Hoi when the country was at peace, but the two lost contact for decades.
When Mr. Cuong left, Mrs. Hoi also discovered him and quickly chased after him. The two met but did not say a word. Mrs. Hoi absentmindedly asked her husband if he remembered the soldier Cuong from back then.
