According to Edaily, on March 25, the official social media account of the 7-Eleven brand posted an update about the fan meeting of Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun in Taiwan (China).
The post stated: "We regret to announce that Kim Soo Hyun will not be able to attend the fan meeting scheduled to take place on March 30 due to schedule conflicts."
Kim Soo Hyun was originally scheduled to appear at the fan meeting organized by 7-Eleven, within the framework of the Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival, Taiwan (China).
Kim Soo Hyun, the brand's representative model, is expected to meet 200 audiences, selected through the lottery system.
This event attracted great attention, as it would be the first time Kim Soo Hyun appeared in public since the scandal surrounding him and the late actor Kim Sae Ron broke out.
However, the final fan meeting was canceled.
According to industry sources, Kim Soo Hyun's guarantee for this event is said to be about 580 million won (more than 10 billion VND). The fine for Kim Soo Hyun's cancel could be up to 1.32 billion won (about 23 billion VND).
Before the scandal, Kim Soo Hyun was a model for 16 brands. Currently, many brands have terminated contracts with the actor such as Prada, Eider, K2 Korea, Shabu All Day, Tous Les Jours, Homeplus.
It is reported that Kim Soo Hyun was paid from 700 million won to 1 billion won (about 12-17 billion VND) in modeling fees for each brand each year.
Some contracts include a clause stating that models "will be fined up to 23 times the advertising fee in case of legal or social problems".
Thus, the advertising fine that Kim Soo Hyun has to pay could be up to 20 billion won (about 349 billion VND).
In addition, Disney+s Knock-Off starring Kim Soo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah has announced a postponement of the release of season 1 and a postponement of filming season 2.
The producer of the variety show "Good Day" cut most of Kim Soo Hyun's time in the most recent episode and canceled the broadcast for 1 week to adjust the content.
