On August 11, a press conference to announce the national walking activity "Marching Along with Vietnam" took place in Hanoi.
The activity was organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and Traditional Day of the People's Public Security (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).
Marching forward with Vietnam is a community activity of unprecedented scale and significance, taking place at a special moment when the whole country is entering a new stage of development along with the rearrangement of administrative units.
For the first time, a walking activity was held simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities with 3,321 communes, wards and special administrative areas nationwide.
This is not only a sporting event in response to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Health to build and protect the Fatherland", but also a journey of millions of hearts in harmony - where all generations and all classes of people converge.
Each locality contributes a part of its strength to move together for a great goal: for a united, strong Vietnam, ready to step into a new era - the era of national aspiration, of the spirit of progress for a strong future.
At the announcement ceremony, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the Steering Committee for the activity "Marching forward with Vietnam", shared: "The program is not only a simple community physical activity but also a collective action rich in political and social significance, expressing the determination of the entire nation in overcoming difficulties together, maintaining health, strengthening solidarity, towards the goal of sustainable development and strong integration in the new era".
Not only stopping at launching, from the actual situation in the locality, the provincial police have directed the police at the ward, commune and special area levels to report to local Party committees and authorities to simultaneously deploy activities; combine propaganda, dissemination and legal education according to the topics to the masses on crime prevention (security, order, fire safety, traffic safety, drowning prevention, drug and e-cigarette prevention, ...), mobilize people to actively participate in building a movement of the entire people to protect national security at the grassroots level, so that each step today is a solid step on the path to build and protect the Fatherland.
The event "Marching forward with Vietnam" will be one of the highlights for specific and practical actions in building a healthy living environment, improving physical and mental health, promoting legal propaganda, preventing crimes, building a movement for the entire people to protect national security.
The national walking activity "Marching with Vietnam" takes place from July 25 to August 16, 2025, people across the country can register online and walk every day, contributing to the journey of "1 billion steps into the new era".
In particular, at 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on August 16, 2025, people in 34 provinces and cities with 3,321 communes, wards, and administrative zones will simultaneously wear red shirts with yellow stars, sing the National Anthem, and walk together for a united, strong, and sustainable Vietnam.
