He announced that Blackpink is actively preparing to release an album and start a world tour. Baby Monster released a new song on July 1.
Baby Monster's new song titled "Hot Sauce" is described as "simpler, fun and addictive" - a song that feels like a perfect "gift" for summer.
The genre was inspired by hip hop music in the late 1980s, right before the genre reached its peak popularity in the 1990s. Yang Hyun Suk noted that this era also marked the beginning of his own hip hop dancing career and confidently declared: the song "very good".
After promoting the single through an MV and a music program, Baby Monster continued to release a mini album on October 1. The mini album includes four songs, one of which is a slow-motion hip hop song that both Yang Hyun Suk and the members consider their "favorite song" to date.
Although details about the title track have not been revealed, the opening track is described as a "strong and wonderful" track, serving as the "perfect opening track for a world tour".
For TREASURE, after their first promotion in the US, the group is ready to release a new mini album on September 1. Yang Hyun Suk said he had a two-hour meaningful conversation with the members about how much they couldn't promote last year. He added that they plan to be much more active this year, with a world tour expected to begin in October.
He and the TREASURE members have agreed on a goal of releasing at least two mini albums or one full-length album per year.
In addition, YG is preparing to launch new boy and girl groups in the coming years. The two groups of men are currently in the preparation process: Group A, with an average age of 18, and Group B, with an average age of 15 - 16. One of these boy bands is expected to debut next year.
A new girl group is also in the process of preparation, including four members who have been confirmed and will be revealed one by one. Yang Hyun Suk shared that they are considering releasing solo songs for each member next year. He noted that the decision to form a four-member group was based on their great chemistry, as he observed.
He also explained that YG has recently restructured its management approach to respond to fans' concerns that "YG artists release their albums too late" in each group's career. He admitted that it is acceptable for different YG groups to "promove at the same time" rather than waiting for a competitive order.
