Lisa also looked back at her time as a trainee at YG Entertainment. After performing a song by Bruno Mars, she was praised by the vocal coach for her singing ability, but a consultant asked her to focus on rap.
Fearing not being selected for the group, Lisa temporarily put aside her singing hobbies to learn rap. This experience made her lack confidence in her singing ability for many years, even when starting her solo career. After a process of independent operation, the female singer gradually regained confidence in her voice.
On September 11, Lisa appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to attend the world premiere of "Always Lalisa".
Lisa's appearance at TIFF marks her bringing her personal documentary film project to one of the major film festivals in North America. Previously, "Always Lalisa" was introduced in the TIFF 2026 program, revolving around Lisa's solo career development and passing to acting.
Always Lalisa" is directed by Sue Kim, with the production participation of Sony Music Vision, RCA Records and Tremolo Productions. The film records Lisa's journey from years of working with Blackpink to developing her personal career, including solo music, performances at Coachella and participating in "The White Lotus".
After the premiere at TIFF, "Always Lalisa" is expected to be released in theaters and IMAX worldwide from October 12. The film will then be released on YouTube Premium at the end of 2026.
