Recently, actor Ly A Bang attracted attention when posting an interview video called "The Last Face".
In the video, Li Yapeng shared details about the Yen Nhien Children's Hospital (Beijing) he runs facing relocation, even closure due to debt of more than 20 million RMB in premises rent.
Yen Nhien Children's Hospital was founded by Ly A Bang and his ex-wife Vuong Phi. The current hospital location was leased in 2009 and opened in 2012. By 2019, when the 10-year lease contract expired, the homeowner requested to double the rent.
Ly A Bang saw that the rent was too expensive, but moving to another hospital was not a small matter. At the same time, at that time, the actor thought that the hospital could still generate revenue, so he agreed to continue signing the contract.
Unexpectedly, a pandemic occurred afterwards, causing the hospital to be almost stalled. Ly A Bang said that in the past 5 years he had paid the homeowner 25 million CNY, and the debt of 26 million CNY was actually the increased rent.
Notably, Ly A Bang's hospital was established from the fact that his daughter and ex-wife Vuong Phi - Ly Yen - had cleft lip and cleft palate deformities.
The star couple established the Yen Nhien Angel Fund in 2006, then established a hospital to help provide free surgery for poor children with cleft palate defects. In the past 10 years, the hospital has performed 11,000 cases of cleft lip and cleft palate surgery, of which 7,000 cases are completely free.

Because Ly A Bang could not pay the location rent after the price increased, the homeowner filed a lawsuit in court. In March 2025, the court ruled that the hospital had to move away, and at the same time paid the remaining rent and fine, totaling more than 26 million CNY.
In the video, Ly A Bang expressed respect for the court's ruling. He admitted that for the past 5 years he has always struggled between continuing to persevere with the hospital or closing it, recognizing that "ambition has exceeded his ability". But before the hospital closed, Ly A Bang wanted to complete the remaining unfinished surgeries.
Ly A Bang's videos quickly became popular. Many people said they had changed their perception of the actor. Ly A Bang, from a person considered to have "no business mind", has become a "tycoon" in the eyes of the public.
Audiences were moved by Ly A Bang's actions over the years, and simultaneously called for a joint effort to send money to support his free medical treatment journey.
Although Li Yapeng clearly stated in the video that the hospital does not have the right to publicly call for donations, people followed clues and found the Yen Nhien Angel Fund - a legal charity project under the Chinese Red Cross Society.
By the evening of January 16, in less than 48 hours, the number of donations reached 180,000, the total amount exceeded 10 million CNY. This number is enough to operate on more than 1,200 children with cleft lip and cleft palate.
Ly A Bang then appeared on livestream with red eyes. He was moved when reading the comments of parents, when looking at the comparison photos before and after surgery of the children.
The actor choked up and said: "Being loved by everyone like that, I am really grateful.
Many people believe that if the donated money is large enough, the hospital may not have to transfer it. However, Ly A Bang repeatedly emphasized that this money was donated to the Yen Nhien Angel Fund, not to pay for the hospital location rental.
The fund has the status of calling for publicity, the task is to find poor children with cleft lip and cleft palate defects nationwide and provide free surgery. Hospitals are just one of the places to do it, not the only one.
The plan has been announced, in March 2026, the "Enlightenment Journey" continues its stop in Xinjiang. The volunteer medical team will bring equipment and 10 million RMB of donated money, directly screening and operating on local children.
The Fund also publicly announced: From 2006 to now, more than 16,000 surgeries have been completed, including 800 complex phase two recovery cases - all of which are free.
