For nearly a year, Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu has been in charge of running Vietnam National Drama Theatre after People's Artist Xuan Bac was appointed Director of the Department of Performing Arts.
Artist Kieu Minh Hieu has been involved with the theater for nearly 30 years, holding the position of Deputy Director of Vietnam National Drama Theatre since 2020. He has a close relationship with People's Artist Xuan Bac.
Talking to Lao Dong reporter, Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu said that his friendship with People's Artist Xuan Bac is very "happy and interesting".
Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu shared, "NDND Xuan Bac and I have been close and acquainted for a long time. During my college years, I studied the upper course, while People's Artist Xuan Bac studied the lower course. I graduated and joined the Vietnam National Drama Theatre first.
Nearly 20 years ago, I was the head of the troupe, and People's Artist Xuan Bac was a very famous artist on television and entertainment programs. People's Artist Xuan Bac runs many shows and works outside the theater.
By around 2012, we were also oriented to perfect our skills, learn knowledge and improve our expertise to be able to take on the work of the theater in the future. When we became the leaders of the theater together, People's Artist Xuan Bac and I became even closer. We are both colleagues and superiors, very compatible and dedicated to building the theater".
Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu believes that he and People's Artist Xuan Bac have in common that they are not afraid of difficulties or hardship, always wanting to do their best to develop Vietnam National Drama Theatre - worthy of the "red brothers" status of Vietnamese stage art.

Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu took on the position of Director of Vietnam National Drama Theatre from May 27 for a 5-year term. He said, "Receiving the new task, I will try to complete it to develop the unit".
Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu was born in 1975 in Hanoi. He has participated in famous plays such as: "Kieu", "Castle of Sand", "The Man Who Enforced the Death Judgment", "Hamlet", "In the Thunder and the Sun"... and directed many famous stage plays.
In 2015, artist Kieu Minh Hieu won a gold medal at the Theater and Theater Festival of the People's Police soldier in 2015 with the play "in the thunderstorm to see the sun".
