On the evening of September 16, the movie "The Voice Over the Ocean" had a premiere at the National Film Center (87 Lang Ha, Hanoi) attracting the attention of experts and the media.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporter, the main actor Nguyen Quang Thuan taking on the role of soldier Duy expressed his hope that the film will soon be widely released.

The work is produced under State orders and there is currently no plan to release it widely.
The main actor revealed that behind the scenes he recorded a difficult time when transforming into a Prisoner outside of Con Dao. He admitted: This role really haunted me, not only during filming but also 2 months after the film has finished filming. Many nights of sleep, I still dream of those scenes, as if they have never left my mind.
Quang Thuan said that what haunted him the most was the scene in the morgue in Con Dao. At that time, there were about 15 to 20 actors in the same setting, and he himself had to be in that haunting space.
"Just imagine, my body trembled, chicken skin all over my body. That feeling of fear seemed to hold on to me, forcing me to live to the fullest in the moment to match the character's emotions," the actor shared.

The Voice Over the Ocean is a thrilling story set against the French colonial resistance war.
Inspired by historical stories in Con Dao from 1945 to 1954, the film opens the main setting where the prison is notoriously known for holding revolutionary soldiers captive. In that dark, the fire of freedom is still burning, led by the Party organization right in prison.
The story revolves around Tam (Thuy Duong) - a nurse playing the monochord, carrying a revolutionary aspiration. Receiving a special mission from the organization, Tam transformed into a cloud to go to Con Dao to take care of the prisoners, in fact supporting the revolutionary comrades being detained.
Here, she unexpectedly met Duy (Quang Thuan) again, a loyal soldier - who secretly worked with her teammates to carry out the plan to build a boat to cross the sea. In the face of brutal tortures, they are still resilient, because in their hearts there is always a noble goal to regain independence for the Fatherland.

The highlight of the film is the monochord sound, which is not only an artistic melody, but also the voice of the soul, of Vietnamese culture, becoming a sharp spiritual weapon.
The heart's voice sows the seeds of humanity, touching even souls that seem to be in a state of "hell on earth", affirming the immortal vitality of national culture - a soft power that cannot be bound by any chain.

The work sends to today's generation a profound message: peace and freedom that we have are the result of the blood, tears and sacrifice of many generations.
Through the journey of Tam, Duy and the prisoners of the revolution, the audience felt the spirit of courage, love for the Fatherland and the responsibility to live worthy of the heroic past.

The film is directed by director Dao Duy Phuc - Nguyen Manh Ha, with the participation of People's Artist Bui Bai Binh, Vinh Xuong, Quang Thuan, Thuy Duong, some foreign actors such as Maurise Nash, Martin Kruger, Charlie Win...
