According to Koreaboo, girl group NJZ (formerly NewJeans) is preparing to release a new song likely called "Pit Stop" for their performance at the ComplexCon 2025 festival in Hong Kong (China) on March 23.
The group released an introduction to this song through official social media accounts named NJZ 1 day before the event took place.
In addition to fans' support, NJZ also received criticism for announcing the release of a new song despite the court's verdict.
Previously, on March 21, the Seoul Central District Court approved ADOR's request to apply a temporary ban (under HYBE Group) against 5 NewJeans members (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) to maintain the company's management rights and prohibit NewJeans from signing advertising contracts.
With this result, NewJeans cannot temporarily participate in independent music activities without consulting with ADOR.
After the verdict in ADOR's favor, NJZ is receiving many negative reactions from the public.
According to Yonhap News, on March 22, NJZ told Time magazine: "We are disappointed with the court's decision. We didn't think the K-pop industry would change overnight. Compared to what we have gone through so far, this is just another step in our journey.
This may be the reality of Korea. But we feel that change and development are necessary. It seems that South Korea wants to turn us into revolutionaries."
In response, ADOR told Time, "It's a pity that the issue has gone to court. If the members return to the company, the misunderstanding can be resolved appropriately."
5 NewJeans members suddenly held a press conference to announce the termination of their exclusive contract with ADOR from November 29, 2024. They later announced their activities under the new name NJZ and created social media accounts under this name.
Although NJZ lost the lawsuit, the group's performance at the ComplexCon 2025 festival on March 23 still took place as planned.
On the evening of March 22, NJZ flew to Hong Kong (China) to prepare. According to CNBC, the group will not only release a new song but also have a solo performance by the members.
ADOR requested employees to support the group's activities at the event, and at the same time intended to ask the lawsuit team to list the group name as NewJeans instead of NJZ.
The next trial to determine the validity of the exclusive contract between ADOR and NewJeans will be held on April 3.
