According to DongA newspaper on March 18, 5 female idols Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein of NewJeans submitted a trademark registration for 2 versions of NJZ's logo and logo for a total of 10 different product categories, on February 6, 2025.
A day later (February 7), they announced on their Instagram account that they would be working under the new name NJZ.
The application process of the 5 members was carried out through Sejong Law Firm - currently the legal representative of the group.
The product categories registered under the NJZ name include: CD, CD distribution services, clothes, mattresses, lighting equipment, leather products, room spray, fruit drinks and furniture...
According to DongA, NJZ may be preparing to launch many familiar "merch" products of idols and music groups for the Kpop fan community. In the lighting equipment category, the product released may be a lightstick (lighting stick).

NJZ plans to actually sell goods ( merch products) using one of the "NJZ symbols" that have been submitted for trademark registration this weekend, when the group performs at the ComplexCon festival held in Hong Kong (China) from 21-23.
A few days earlier, NJZ's account shared photos and videos revealing the key hook and bracelet product with the design bearing the NJZ symbol.
The group will also perform a new song at this event. This is considered NJZ's first official debut after the members announced their departure from ADOR.

Meanwhile, NJZ is entangled in a contract dispute with ADOR Company (under HYBE Group).
5 NewJeans members held a press conference to announce the termination of their contracts with ADOR from the end of November 2024. In February 2025, they announced that they would be active with the new group name NJZ, and open social media accounts on Instagram, X/ Twitter, TikTok, YouTube under the name NJZ.
In contrast, ADOR filed a lawsuit to prohibit NewJeans from signing an advertising contract in court to maintain its position as a management company and prevent NewJeans from signing an advertising contract. After that, ADOR's request for permission was expanded to prohibit NewJeans (now NJZ) from entertainment activities.
The first hearing on ADOR's ban application took place on March 7 and the results will likely be announced this week.
