In a conversation with Lao Dong reporters, People's Artist Trung Anh recounted the long journey he had been attached to the acting profession, especially, he remembers most the years he was attached to the Vietnam Drama Theater with many memories.
In 1978, when he was only 17 years old, People's Artist Trung Anh secretly registered for the exam from his family and was selected to study in the first acting class of the Vietnam Drama Theater. After four years of studying, in 1982, People's Artist Trung Anh graduated from the 1st acting class of the Central Vietnam Drama Theater (now the Vietnam Drama Theater).
Exactly 8 days after graduating, NSND Trung Anh enlisted with many artists. He served in the army for about two years before being discharged early due to many achievements in the military, and returned to acting. A year later, he only played extras.
Recalling that time, People's Artist Trung Anh shared: "I returned after 2 years of facing many changes. Two years in the military gave me valuable life experience and maturity. But, after 2 years away from the stage, I also felt a little disappointed when I returned.
Before leaving, we often took on the main roles in graduation plays. But after more than 2 years of returning, the friends who stayed have gone very far, with rich experience. Looking back at myself, my hair and beard are almost "wild" (laughs), and I have been away from the stage for quite a long time. We fell into crisis, self-consciousness and were not assigned roles in new plays. I was so stuck that I wanted to quit my job because I thought playing extras like that was not okay" - People's Artist Trung Anh recalled.
At that time, People's Artist Trung Anh once intended to go to work abroad. But, the flame of passion for theater kept him.
People's Artist Trung Anh said: "I remind myself to be patient, try and cherish from the smallest roles to gradually move forward. If it weren't for those years of overcoming difficulties, there would be no me today.

Overcoming difficult times, People's Artist Trung Anh stayed at the Vietnam Drama Theater to strive and make efforts for more than 40 years with many contributions, participating in a series of classic plays of the theater. He became one of the most prominent and famous artists of the theater.
Recalling the years at the Vietnam National Drama Theatre, he still recounted with gratitude, preserved beautiful memories, remembered what he had learned and expressed gratitude.
When I was working at the Vietnam National Drama Theatre, my mind was always concerned about the stage. Although television audiences know me best through movies, my roots are still people who are trained from the "saint hall" of spoken drama.
At that time, despite receiving many film invitations, I always prioritized the theater's work first. When I retired and was no longer burdened with work schedules, I was comfortable choosing scripts" - People's Artist Trung Anh said.
As a reputable personal brand in the profession, People's Artist Trung Anh participated in film and television dramas, and won awards at the National Film Festival. In 2019, he was awarded the title of People's Artist.
In 2021, People's Artist Trung Anh retired under the regime. However, according to People's Artist Trung Anh, when he retired, he was still very busy, receiving many invitations to act in films in both the film and television fields. Currently, he is participating in the film project "Indus Asia Code" of the People's Police Cinema.
People's Artist Trung Anh's full name is Bui Trung Anh, born in 1961 in Ha Tinh. He married a wife 10 years younger, has 2 children, a son and a daughter.
