“Tet Tu Te” is directed by An Thuyen and produced by Nguyen Duy Nhat. This is also a project that director An Thuyen has cherished for a long time.
"Tet Tu Te" is not only a story about Tet, but also opens up profound thoughts about morality, responsibility and the meaning of living kindly in a challenging society. The film revolves around the story of Vui (played by Xuan Nghi) and his wife - a poor family but removed from the list of poor households because they had to "give up their place" to richer families.
Too unfair, Vui decided to confront the Chairman of Choen commune (Meritorious Artist Quang Teo) - a scheming person who manipulates everything for personal gain and corruption.
The film ends in a warm atmosphere of Tet reunion, when villagers share joy and justice is restored. Vui becomes a symbol of honest people, daring to stand up and fight for what is right.
The film emphasizes that kindness, even from the smallest actions, can create great power to fight injustice and bring justice to society. Not only a holiday of reunion, Tet is also an opportunity for each person to reflect on their own life values, awaken compassion and strengthen faith in good things.
Sharing about the role of Chairman Choen, Meritorious Artist Quang Teo revealed a memorable behind-the-scenes story: "Honestly, I was paid tens of millions of dong for this role in the film, but the car crash scene in the film made me fall painfully, destroying my shoes," artist Quang Teo shared.
"Tet De Te" also features People's Artist Quoc Anh in the role of Vice President Top - a character who is calculating and always wants to overthrow President Choen.
Talking about the challenge of making "Tet De Te" when gathering famous actors in the Tet comedy scene and young actors, director An Thuyen could not help but feel pressured: "I feel extremely lucky to be able to cooperate with veteran artists. Many years of acting experience help the artists deeply understand the characters and acting. The artists can also give valuable suggestions to help the crew improve the script or the way of directing the acting.
Besides, there is also a bit of difficulty in terms of generation gap and difference in perspective. Therefore, in the process of working and collaborating, it is necessary to create a balance between maintaining the director's vision and respecting the artist's opinion."
