According to Good Data Corporation, season 2 of the "Bloodhounds" series has topped the list of TV dramas this week, while the trio of actors Woo Do Hwan, Bi Rain and Lee Sang Yi respectively ranked 3rd, 4th and 7th in the cast list.
After its release on April 3, the film ranked 5th on its opening day. But, thanks to word-of-mouth effects, the work quickly increased in rank, to number 1 on the charts in Korea, and also reached number 2 globally in the non-English TV series category on Netflix.
The media assessed that "Bloodhounds 2" not only impressed with the violent element but also with the way the story is built about brotherhood, loyalty and survival in a harsh environment. The acting of the cast, especially Bi Rain, along with the action element, scored points with the audience.
Following "Bloodhounds 2" on the TV drama chart is "Perfect crown" in 2nd place, while two actors IU and Byeon Woo Seok respectively ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the actor list.
The film has currently aired 2 episodes with impressive viewership ratings, reaching 7.8% and 9.5% respectively, according to Nielsen Korea. However, contrary to expectations and good ratings, "Perfect crown" is receiving some mixed reactions related to the plot and acting.
In addition to the "contract marriage - wedding first, love later" motif that is too familiar to the audience, cheesy lines and the acting of IU and Byeon Woo Seok are considered minus points. If IU is criticized for exaggerating, her co-star also receives criticism for stiff, unnatural expressions, especially in scenes opposite Gong Seung Yeon.
This week, the movie "Climax" dropped to 3rd place in the TV drama rankings, while the cast including Joo Ji Hoon, Ha Ji Won, Nana and Cha Joo Young respectively reached 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th places in the actor rankings.
The movie "The Ghost Lawyer", although viewership ratings decreased in the last 2 episodes, still ranked 4th in the TV series list, and the male lead Yoo Yeon Seok entered the actor list in 10th place.
The remaining films in the top 10 TV series include "Concrete Dream", "Light of Ours", "Your Brilliant Season", "Love Handbook", "Doctor Shin" and "Siren Kiss".
