First released in 2023, "Bloodhounds" (Vietnamese title: Chó săn công lý) is an action movie, about 2 young people stepping into the world of usury to earn money and being caught up in a network with dark forces.
After dismantling the usury gang in the first season, Gun Woo (Woo Do Hwan) and Woo Jin (Lee Sang Yi) are preparing to face the illegal boxing tournament led by Baek Jeong (Bi Rain) in season 2.
Before its release on April 3rd, the film received audience attention for Bi Rain's unusual images in the villain role line. Besides, the maturity of the 2 characters played by Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi is also a factor of interest.
Sharing about the movie, Woo Do Hwan said that he focused on improving boxing skills to clearly show Gun Woo's maturity, and at the same time bring a more powerful version of Gun Woo than season 1.
Meanwhile, action director Jung Sung Ho revealed that initially Gun Woo used a strong, direct and methodical boxing style, but when accumulating experience and learning new techniques, he gradually became a comprehensive martial artist with the ability to adapt situations and unpredictable strikes.
With Woo Jin, director Jung said, the character is "a type of martial artist who always seeks loopholes and creates opportunities". Not only delivering sharp, agile moves, Woo Jin is also the one who creates situations with carefully calculated movements.
Speaking about this change, Lee Sang Yi said that partly it shows the character's determination to protect his family, and partly, when Woo Jin moves from boxer to trainer, his style will be faster and stronger.
In this part of the film, Gun Woo and Woo Jin will have a confrontation with Baek Jeong - who is known as the "living weapon", an almost perfect martial artist, possessing great strength, speed and technique.
According to Bi Rain, this is the darkest and most powerful role he has ever played, while director Jung said that to clearly express the character's personality, the crew focused on creating eye-catching action scenes, along with rhythm and unique atmosphere for the matches.
