According to the Korean Film Council, as of August 17, the movie "My Daughter Is a Zombie" (Vietnamese title: Zombie, my father's favorite) has sold more than 4.31 million tickets, earning a revenue of 40.8 billion won.
The film still holds the No. 1 spot at the Korean box office after 19 days of release, surpassing the Hollywood blockbusters F1 (4.1 million tickets) and Mission: impossible - The Final Reckoning (3.36 million tickets), to become the most watched film of 2025 in Korea.
Based on the popular online comic of the same name, "My Daughter Is a Zombie" is a touching comedy about a single father who tries every way to protect his daughter - the last living Japanese victim on earth.
The film stars Jo Jung Suk, Cho Yeo Jeong, Lee Jung Eun, Choi Yu Ri and many other actors.

According to the Korea Herald, the film's box office revenue brought a rare bright spot in a year that was considered a weakness of Korean cinemas.
According to the mid-year report of the Korean Film Council, box office revenue has decreased by 33% in the first half of 2025, and no film has surpassed the 10 million-view mark, which is often considered a super blockbuster.
Part of the film's sales momentum comes from the 6,000 won ticket discount program of the Korean government, which was launched on July 25.
In addition, "My Daughter is a Zombie" has satisfied fans of the original work, an achievement that other webtoon adaptations are unlikely to achieve.
The audience praised the film's diligence in the favorite details in the original webtoon, from the yellow vest and hairpins of Mrs. Bam-soon to the cat that completely captivated the family's affection.
Although filmmakers have chosen a more hopeful ending than the tragic ending of the webtoon, the core father-son relationship remains intact.
This is in complete contrast to "Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy" - a film adapted from a famous webtoon, but is opposed by the public.
Despite a production budget of 30 billion won and a star-studded cast of Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop, Nana, Jisoo (Blackpink)... this work has only attracted more than 1 million views.
Most of the criticism that the film went too far from the original, the less attractive character changes in the webtoon were basic mistakes.
