Blackpink fans are excited as the members continuously release new music products.
After Lisa with “Moonlit Floor” and Jennie with “Mantra”, Rose also surprised everyone with the unannounced release of the song “APT.” featuring pop star Bruno Mars.
The song was released at 11am on October 18 (Vietnam time) and quickly achieved a series of successes.
Notably, on the same afternoon, “APT.” climbed to number 8 on the US iTunes chart.
“APT.” surpassed Jennie’s “Mantra” (No. 27), becoming the highest-charting debut by a female K-pop solo artist on US iTunes in 2024. Rose is also the first Asian female artist in history to debut directly into the Top 10 of this chart.
By the evening of October 18, “APT.” climbed to number 5 on US iTunes and ranked number 1 on iTunes in 32 regions.
On YouTube, the MV “APT.” is currently trending at number 1 globally, surpassing 10 million views after 9 hours of release.
In the Korean market, the song by Rose (Blackpink) and Bruno Mars quickly rose in the rankings. As of 10 p.m., “APT.” had entered the top 5 of the Melon Top 100 chart, climbed to the top 5 of Genie, top 29 of Flo, and dethroned “Mantra” by Jennie as the top 1 of Bugs.

According to Rolling Stone, “APT.” evokes memories of Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl.” British music magazine NME gave “APT.” a perfect 5/5, commenting: “The Blackpink star has long proven she knows how to craft a killer song. “On The Ground” and “Gone,” solo tracks she released through YG Entertainment in 2021, showcase her impeccable pop chops.
But on “APT.”, the first taste of Rose’s new solo chapter with Atlantic Records, she takes a giant leap forward and makes a bold statement.”
NME added: “The track is a rousing track, bursting with playful energy, from its punchy pop-rock beat to its infectious chanted chorus, inspired by the drinking game ‘Apartment’ she taught Mars.
Honestly, Rose's voice has never sounded better than it does on this track. There's a power and confidence to her voice that far surpasses her previous performances. The classic pop-rock beats, coupled with a personable demeanor—with hues of Toni Basil, Blondie, and Joan Jett—seem to suit Rose as an artist.
Addictive, flirty, and downright hilarious, “APT.” is the perfect opening to Rose’s new chapter.”
