Recently, Park Ji Hoon participated in an interview to share about his latest TV series project - "The legend of kitchen soldier".
The legend of kitchen soldier" is a fantasy film about a military chef, revolving around Private Kang Sung Jae (played by Park Ji Hoon), who exchanges a rifle for a kitchen knife and a bullet string for a vest to rise to become a "legendary military chef".
Known as a person who loves the military, Park Ji Hoon said that the filming process helped him have the opportunity to experience part of his military life.
Recalling the training scenes, he shared: "We filmed training scenes in the mountains in winter and it was extremely cold. Even that short indirect experience was very interesting to me. I carried a rifle, crawled on the ground and completely immersed myself in the character.

When asked if the movie would help with his real military life, he smiled and shook his head, saying: "Military chefs are positions that start working earlier than everyone else and end later than everyone else, so I think it also has its own difficulties.
Luckily, in the movie I am stationed at a small station with few people, but if it is a battalion-level unit, I have to cook hundreds of meals. It will definitely not be easy at all," he explained.
Born in 1999, Park Ji Hoon revealed that he is preparing for his upcoming military service.
I want to try registering for a special task force unit. I want to apply and participate in tests to get into units that require volunteering. I think I will learn a lot there. I want to experience content such as parachute training, rappelling from helicopters and jumping off planes," the actor shared.
Speaking about the time of enlistment, he said: "The exact time has not been decided yet, but I am in a situation where I have to enlist next year.
The actor believes that he should enlist when his fitness is still favorable and cannot be delayed for too long, and expressed interest in joining the Marine Corps or a reconnaissance unit.
In particular, Park Ji Hoon declared that he is not worried about the so-called "interruption period due to military service".
According to him, nowadays, many actors film projects in advance before enlisting. Park Ji Hoon wants to bring a sense of surprise to fans that he has enlisted in the army that few people know.

Park Ji Hoon recently became the most noticed young face in the Korean entertainment industry, when the movie "The king's warden" starring him and Yoo Hae Jin was a resounding success.
The work grossed 16.8 million tickets and broke the Korean box office record. Park Ji Hoon's role as the deposed king in the film also helped him win the Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2026.
