The Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health, led by Mr. Quan Chi Duc - Deputy Head of the Food Safety Department - has just had a working session with the kitchen manager of Unico Global YB Company Limited (headquartered in Au Lau Industrial Park, Au Lau Ward, Lao Cai Province) to verify information on social networks about the rice portion with strange creatures (insects) discovered in the meat dish on July 21.
According to the working minutes between the Food Safety Department, the lunch on July 21 at the company's kitchen includes the following dishes: White rice, fried fish with betel leaves, stir-fried pumpkin, bamboo shoot soup, sausage fried rice, fried pork, yogurt, dessert guava for 1,100 meals.

In the worker's tray, an insect appeared, then the rice tray was taken back and the worker was given a new one.
The minutes stated: According to the restaurant, the meat dish was processed at high temperatures and the processing time was from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on the same day, then divided into food for workers. Therefore, it is impossible to see any live insects after processing food.
This nurse also said that when adding guava to dessert, it is very delicious on the outside but inside there are signs of not being guaranteed, with many black worm stains. The kitchen has contacted the supplier to return and compensate for the deep guava. Therefore, it is very likely that the insect that survived the attack was in the guava after being feeding had cows outside.
The working group inspected the kitchen of the facility: the facility presented a food purchase and sale contract, import-export voucher for pork on July 19, 2025, guava on July 21, 2021.
Organize a three-step food inspection and store food samples for 24 hours in accordance with regulations. It is worth mentioning that the checking of the sample for lunch on July 21, 2025 has been canceled.

Meanwhile, the report of the Unico Global Company Trade Union to the Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation clearly stated: "In the rice tray of the workers, an unusual foreign object was discovered. After checking and looking carefully, the foreign object moved on the rotated meat of the rice tray, like a tree still alive".
Through the video posted on social networks, workers also clearly recorded the image of a foreign object resembling a plow that appeared in a piece of rotated meat and was moving.
The next day, more than 60% of workers refused to eat at the company, switching to ordering their own things, ordering dishes outside the company to eat.
At the working session on the afternoon of July 22, the leaders of Lao Cai Provincial Labor Federation proposed that the company pay for lunch for workers and laborers who did not have lunch at home on July 22. At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene to verify the incident to promptly inform the workers.
In addition, the company needs to work with the food supplier to ensure the quality of the meals, if there are violations, they will be handled according to the provisions of the law.
