The Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) has just issued an urgent warning, requesting to review and stop the business of some batches of Allen's iNSiDE OUTS candies from Australia after authorities in this country discovered the risk of containing plastic foreign objects inside the product.
The information was released after the Food Safety Department received an official warning from the Australia-New Zealand Food Standards Agency (FSANZ) about the urgent recall of Allen's iNSiDE OUTS 130g candy product that is being widely distributed in the Australian market.
According to FSANZ, the reason for the recall decision was due to the discovery of plastic fragments mixed in the product. This foreign object can cause risk of injury to users if accidentally swallowed. Australian authorities recommend that consumers not use products from affected batches and quickly contact the sales unit for support.
Allen's iNSiDE OUTS is a famous candy line and is commonly sold at many major retail systems in Australia such as Coles, Woolworths and IGA. The recalled product batches all have expiration dates until June 30, 2027, including codes: 6072T941, 6073T941, 6074T941, 6075T941, 6085T941, 6086T941 and 6088T941.
Although no cases of affecting consumer health in Vietnam have been recorded, this product can currently be purchased and sold through e-commerce platforms and smuggled goods channels. Faced with the potential risk, the Food Safety Department has requested the E-commerce and Digital Economy Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) to urgently notify e-commerce platforms, sales websites and distribution units to conduct reviews.
Booth owners and distributors are required to immediately stop trading in batches of products under warning if they are found circulating in Vietnam. At the same time, related promotional information needs to be removed and handled according to current regulations to protect consumer rights and health.
In order to ensure the health and rights of consumers, the Food Safety Department has sent a document requesting the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) - the unit assigned to manage candy items to urgently notify e-commerce platforms and sales websites to conduct inspections.
