According to Nielsen Korea, episode 2 of "Agent Kim Reboot" broadcast on the evening of June 27 reached a viewership rating of 15.7% and peaked at 18.1%.
This achievement not only helped the film set a record for SBS's highest rating in 2026, but also became the first TV series on all channels to surpass the 15% mark after only two episodes since "The Penthouse 3" in 2021.
In addition, the work also topped the entire weekly broadcast program in the 20-49 age group with a rating of 5.8%, peaking at 7.1%, continuing to show strong attraction in terms of both viewership and level of interest.
Previously, the first episode of "Agent Kim Reboot" opened with a rating of 9.5%, becoming the short-running TV series with the highest debut in 2026.
The film marks So Ji Sub's comeback on SBS after 13 years since the success of "Master's Sun".
The actor plays Kim Do Hyun (Managing Kim) - a legendary former agent who abandons the past to live as a normal father. However, after his only daughter becomes a victim of school violence and goes missing, he is forced to awaken his fighting instinct to embark on a rescue journey.
Episode 2 continues to push up the pace of the film as Kim Do Hyun's past is gradually revealed. From an agent with the code name "66", he becomes a father willing to give up everything for his daughter.
The chases, gunfights and confrontations with the criminal group behind the kidnapping also pushed the film's pace up, ending with a flip showing that his daughter Min Ji is still alive.
Right after the first two episodes, many viewers left positive feedback, saying that this was a "custom-made" role for So Ji Sub, and highly appreciated the actor's realistic action scenes.
Many viewers also praised the chemical reaction between So Ji Sub, Choi Dae Hoon and Yoon Kyung Ho, helping to balance the tense atmosphere with just enough humorous segments.
Although the motif "the normal father is actually a former agent" is not too new, So Ji Sub's deployment and acting are still enough to create attraction for the work, especially after the ending in episode 2.
Meanwhile, at other weekend time slots, JTBC's "Pilot Chairman" continued to set a personal record when reaching 10.4% - the highest rating since broadcasting. MBC's "Mid-Aged Expert" film closed the journey with a rating of 5%.
