The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea and the Korea International Cultural Exchange Fund (KOFICE) have just announced the results of the "2025 Global Hallyu Survey" to reflect the strong appeal of Korean dramas in the international market.
The survey was conducted in 28 countries with more than 26,000 participants. The results showed that "Squid Game" (Vietnamese title: Squid game) continues to maintain the No. 1 position with 9.7% of the votes. This is the 4th consecutive time, "Squid Game" holds the No. 1 position in this survey. Part 2 broadcast at the end of 2024 with an open ending increasing the heat for this hit survival series. "Squid Game 3" will air on June 27 promising many thrilling and explosive details. The audience is also waiting for the ending enough to close this hit series.
"Squid Game" was followed by "Queen of Tears" (Vietnamese title: Queen of Tears) with 6.5% of the votes. The emotional love story and acting of the couple Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won helped the film attract global audiences.
"Crash Landing on You" (Vietnamese title: Landing on You) still maintains its appeal when it ranked 3rd with 2.2% of the votes, proving the enduring vitality of the story of love beyond borders. Next were "True Beauty" (Vietnamese title: authentic Beauty) with 2.1% and "Lovely Runner" (Vietnamese title: Carrying you running) with 1.8%.
The appearance of new films such as "Queen of Tears" and "Currently Running" in the top 5 reflects the trend of global audiences increasingly quickly approaching Korean films as soon as they are broadcast. With the support of online platforms, Korean films are increasingly easily reaching international audiences.
