According to Allkpop, Taeyang - a member of the group Big Bang will return to the music race with a solo studio album called "QUINTESSENCE", released on May 18. This is the male singer's first complete solo album after about 9 years.
Before returning (comeback), Taeyang has released a series of teaser photos on social networks. In the new image, the singer born in 1988 pursues a monochrome, modern style, combined with a personal fashion image. The prominent hair color and strong gaze help the male singer quickly attract the attention of the audience.

The album name "QUINTESSENCE" can be understood as "essence" or "core essence" of an object. Taeyang said this is a word that has stayed in his mind for a long time, and at the same time is something he believes is "very necessary in this era".
The male singer shared that this album records the journey to find that "core essence". He hopes that listeners can also one day find something similar inside themselves. "I hope that one day you will also discover that within yourself. That is a story about the most important things but not easy to see," the Big Bang member shared.

Notably, the release date of May 18th is also Taeyang's birthday. Therefore, the new album is considered a special music gift that the male singer sent to VIP - the Big Bang fan community.
Besides solo activities, Taeyang continues to accompany Big Bang. The group is preparing for a world tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary of debut, scheduled for August. Previously, Taeyang also attracted attention when performing with G-Dragon and Daesung at the Coachella Music Festival.
