Teddy is praised by Grammy 2026 winner as a Kpop pioneer

The song "Golden" in Netflix's animated movie soundtrack album "Kpop Demon Hunters" won the "Best Song Composed for Visual Media" award at the 68th Grammy Awards, marking the first historical milestone of Kpop in this category.

Musicians EJAE, Teddy, 24 and IDO were honored as the official winners of the song.

After receiving the award, producer and musician 24 (Jeong Hoon Seo) dedicated this honor to Teddy, who did not attend the ceremony. He said that the entire "creative process" was thanks to Teddy, calling Teddy "the greatest teacher, the closest friend and the pioneer of Kpop".

Teddy Park (real name Park Hong Jun) is a Kpop/rap star who has shifted to being a talented music producer, who has contributed to shaping and supporting the international reach of Korean music for more than 2 decades.

Performed by Korean-American artists EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami as the fictional girl group Huntr/x of the movie "Kpop Demon Hunters", the song "Golden" quickly became a global phenomenon, topping both the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100.

Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the movie "Kpop Demon Hunters" revolves around a trio of characters living a double life: both music stars and warriors protecting the world from ghostly forces such as Lord Gwi-Ma and the Saja Boys group specializing in stealing souls.

Meanwhile, Rosé (Blackpink) with the song "APT." collaborating with Bruno Mars has 3 Grammy nominations this year - including Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Kpop girl group Katseye was also nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. But neither Rosé nor Katseye won the award.
