After nearly 2 years since the Born Pink tour, Kpop girl group Blackpink is returning with a new deadline global tour, along with the release of a new song Jump and preparing for the album scheduled to be released later this year.
However, the Deadline tour was embroiled in many controversies right after YG Entertainment announced Blackpink's comeback and performance schedule.
The tour's name "Deadline" was criticized by some audiences, saying that this was a name that expressed YG's weak creative thinking and superstitiveness in activities for Blackpink.
But Rose's revelation in a recent interview with Vogue Korea surprised many people. The female singer said that it was the 4 members of Blackpink (Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, Lisa) and producer Teddy who came up with and proposed the name "Deadline".
That was the title that Teddy and the members thought of together. There is a story that a great artist replied "deadline" when asked about the greatest source of creative inspiration. And as a creative person, I really sympathize with that.
My album rosie was also released in that way. Because of deadlines, I work more freely and express things more boldly, Rose shared.
Blackpink is returning with a completely new style through the song Jump.
Music producer Diplo revealed, When the beautiful girls of Blackpink asked me to compose a Kpop song for Tech-trance-hardcore (electric music genres - EDM) for the summer, I said jump (dancing)".
It can be seen that the 4 Blackpink members have shown their initiative in deciding on the theme and style related to the group's comeback this time.

When asked about their experience composing music together and preparing for a tour after a long time of group gatherings, Rose shared: I was very excited. In your 20s, you feel and learn so many things a day, that in just one year, you can become a completely different person.
We enter every process with the expectation of the creations we will create. As expected, we had a great collaboration, I was very happy at that moment.
Previously, in an interview with Elle Korea, Jisoo also talked about the power of Blackpink when reuniting as a 4-member group.
"Since we each work in many different personal projects, when we work together, we have more ideas and open up more possibilities. By gathering all our experience and strengths, I think we can come back stronger as a team, Jisoo shared.
Blackpink's "Jump" is achieving many impressive achievements. Jump tied the record with Blackpinks own song Shut Down, becoming the longest-running K-pop song to hold the No. 1 spot on the Spotify Global Chart (6 days).
Jump debuted with 52.9 million streams in its first week on Spotify, making it the song with the most streams of the first week by any artist in 2025.
According to predictions, this week, Jump will enter the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and possibly debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200.
