“MEOW” is a powerful song with a heavy bass drum beat. It is a girl-crush style similar to YG Entertainment groups like 2NE1 and Blackpink.
As soon as “MEOW” was released, it was compared to Baby Monster 's debut song “Batter Up” - also a 5th generation girl group from YG.
“Batter Up” was released on November 27, 2023 with an unimpressive first hour performance. The song only reached 140th place on Genie, and did not enter any other major Korean music charts.

In another post on theqoo that attracted 40,000 views, with the title comparing Baby Monster's debut song "Batter Up" and MEOVV's "MEOW", many Korean audiences said that both songs were not impressive. However, Baby Monster members possess outstanding talent, vocals and beauty.
Some other opinions say that the two producers Yang Hyun Suk and Teddy should work together to have a good girl group like Blackpink .
