Revenue has proven that Vietnamese films can completely dominate at home, when from VND1,900 billion in 2024 to more than VND2,200 billion in the first half of 2025; and a series of new records created by "Red Rain" such as reaching VND500 billion after only 2 weeks of official release.

Young audiences watch Vietnamese war films
Talking to Lao Dong reporter, director - Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen said, "The film has an more important task than selling tickets or earning high revenue, which is a political task. The film crew only hopes that the audience will come to the cinema to watch the film, especially the young audience, so that they can love the history of their country more. To finish watching "Red Rain", young audiences will find more documents to read about history, about 81 days and nights to protect the ancient citadel of Quang Tri in 1972 and many other wars in the history of the nation".
The "Red Rain" fever has brought unprecedented things, when young audiences after watching the film spread the spirit of national pride, creating a strong "trending" for the movement to go to historical museums to learn more, or visit the ancient citadel of Quang Tri together...
The Vietnam Military History Museum in the days leading up to the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 is always packed with visitors, mainly young audiences. Many visitors came here after watching the movie "Red Rain".

On September 2, when reporters came to record the atmosphere at the Vietnam Military History Museum, they saw many young people holding the flag to take "check-in" photos, spreading the spirit of national pride on digital platforms.
Vu Thuy Linh (born in 2001) said: "I have watched "Red Rain" twice, and now I come here to learn more about the historical documents and images from the period from 1945-19504, then 1954-1925. Perhaps, because I love "Red Rain", I have learned a lot about the period 1968-192 and the famous campaigns during this period. really proud and touched".
"Red Rain" along with the effect of the A80 grandstand has created an explosion on social networking platforms. The image of the film was strongly spread by young people, they expressed their pride and appreciated the peaceful value that the previous generation fought to achieve.
"Red Rain" causes a storm on Facebook, TikTok, livestream film reviews... Experts say that Vietnamese films are flourishing in 2025 with quality war and historical works.
The quality of the two works "Red Rain" and "geography" has broken long-standing prejudices about war films and history - always considered to be picky about the audience, making it difficult to attract viewers to the theater. In particular, the greatest value - as director Dang Thai Huyen said - is not in record revenue.
The greatest value is that young audiences have come to see, are proud, have spread, and learn about history together.
