At the 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Timothee Chalamet was named in the Best Actor category in a comedy or musical film. His victory was considered surprising but convincing when he had to compete with a series of heavy contenders including George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ethan Hawke, Lee Byung-hun and Jesse Plemons.

A funny moment was when Chalamet jokingly said that he did not expect to stand on stage one day to thank Kevin O'Leary, the familiar face of the Shark Tank program.
