The first trial of Diddy took place on the morning of May 13 (Vietnam time) in a federal court in New York, USA.
Diddy has repeatedly denied the allegations. At the trial, federal prosecutors accused Diddy of abusing his ex-girlfriend - female singer Cassie Ventura for many years.
Cassie Ventura witnessed her relationship with the music tycoon and the Freak Offs (the name of the multi-day sex parties) accused in the criminal trial.
She said that drug- mixed sex with prostitutes lasted for many days, making her feel " disgusted" and "shame". Diddy pleads not guilty, according to the New York Times
In 2023, Cassie accused Diddy of rape and multiple years of physical abuse in a lawsuit.
One witness was Israel Florez - a hotel security guard. This person claimed to have seen Diddy in a state of near nothingness, immobility, and lifeless eyes after attacking Cassie at a hotel in Los Angeles, USA in 2016.
The plaintiff argued that the video was invalid because it was presented in no particular order and was quickly exported. The jury later rejected the view and watched clips from security cameras.
Prosecutor Emily Johnson said that Diddy maintained control of Cassie by using stimulants, threats, and recording videos of her being forced to have sex with many male employees in a nightclub.
The "Freak Offs" are where Cassie is drugged and forced to do things she doesn't want to do. She talked about being brutally assaulted and blackmailed by Diddy.
Cassie Ventura said she was forced to participate in the "happy party".
I just felt ashamed, as disgusting, as much as I could endure. I choked up, I didn't want to do that. I was in a position where I couldn't get out easily," Cassie shared.
The reason why Cassie had difficulty escaping a toxic relationship was because Diddy controlled her completely from her outfit, work, whereabouts, the people she contacted, and even her phone and computer.
In the final part of her statement, Cassie admitted that she had used many drugs and neurosuppressants to "aseptically distance herself from reality" and paralyze her emotions. "I can't imagine I can do those things without anything oppressive and covering up the disaster," the female singer admitted. The person who supplied the drugs to Cassie was Diddy or his employee.
Meanwhile, Diddy's defense attorney - Ms. Teny Geragos - said that the case was overly inflated, because voluntary sexual acts between adults were classified as crimes of human trafficking and prostitution.
Teny Geragos admitted that Diddy may have abused his ex-girlfriend due to the influence of alcohol and stimulants, but had no involvement in serious crimes such as sex trafficking or organized crime.
Diddy did not have any noticeable reaction to his ex-girlfriend's statement, only taking a note and passing it on to the lawyer.
In 2024, Diddy was accused of rape, sexual assault and harassment by more than 120 people. The rapper was arrested in September 2024, and was denied bail on bail.
