Rapper and music producer Sean "Diddy" Combs is facing seven new felony charges filed in New York federal court on October 22.
A new lawsuit has been filed in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
According to CNN, the lawsuit was filed by a woman now 37 years old, who was kept anonymous in court records under the name Jane Doe. The plaintiff alleges that the incident occurred at a VMAs after-party on September 7, 2000, when the plaintiff was 13 years old.
According to the lawsuit, the victim was invited to a party by a limousine driver. After having a drink, she felt dizzy and found a bedroom to rest.
There, Combs and two other celebrities (one male and one female) sexually assaulted her.
The lawsuit describes Combs approaching the victim by saying, “You’re ready to party!” before pushing her toward the unnamed male celebrity.
The man then raped her while Combs and the female celebrity watched. Combs then raped the victim himself.
The lawsuit also outlines the serious consequences the victim suffered: "Following the attack, Plaintiff fell into a deep depression that continues to affect every aspect of her life," CNN wrote.
The charges are just one in a series of serious allegations against Combs. Federal prosecutors allege the rapper ran a “criminal enterprise” through his business empire, engaging in sex trafficking, forced labor and kidnapping. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.
In response to the information released, Sean "Diddy" Combs has completely denied all allegations.
Diddy's attorney asserted: "Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone — adult or minor, man or woman."
Sean "Diddy" Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn and has been denied bail.
The case is being investigated and tried according to legal procedures. The court is continuing to collect evidence and statements from relevant parties.
