On August 11, the producer of the Chinese TV series "irreplaceable" officially announced the cast, production team, and posters of the characters.
The film was written by screenwriter Truong Nguy, directed by two directors Tran Minh Chuong and Tran The Dich.
irreplaceable is an urban romance film, revolving around female office worker Tu Tri (Trieu Kim Mach), a girl who always lives with the viewpoint of there is definitely no one to replace her.
In a competitive office environment, she gradually overcame challenges, stood side by side with her partner Diep Tin Chi (Nguoi Dai Huan), and fought together to become an irreplaceable person.
On that journey, Tu Tri and Diep Tin Chi helped each other, had a romantic relationship but also fought fiercely.
Notably, Tu Tri and Diep Tin Chi are both the main characters of the film. But the two actors Trieu Kim Mach and Wei Daxun have a different position when the producer introduces the actors.
This reflects the problem of "affection" (rancing the importance/ status of actors in projects) commonly seen in the Chinese film industry.
According to the producer, Zhao Jinmai appeared first as the "main actor". Meanwhile, Wei Daxun appeared later as a "special guest actor". This means that Trieu Kim Mach is the first actor, Wei Dai Huan is the second actor in the project.
Many opinions say that the producer intentionally introduced Wei Daxun to a strange role, to reduce interest in the actor being inferior to his junior Trieu Kim Mach.
However, other opinions say that Zhao Jinmai being placed above Wei Daxun is a reasonable decision. Although Zhao Jinmai is 13 years younger than her senior, her career and reputation all surpass Wei Daxun.
Zhao Jinmai was born in 2002, graduated from the Central Academy of Drama. She debuted at the age of 10, with a role in the TV series "Chang the don mai".
After that, Zhao Jinmai gradually became a prominent face in the 10X generation of actresses on the Chinese screen. In 2019, she was selected by Forbes magazine as a "30 Under 30" in China.
