V (BTS) suspected of violating military discipline

Min Hee Jin's revelation about V (BTS) wishing her a happy birthday is raising questions about enjoying special privileges in the military.

Recently, in a conversation with music critic Kim Young Dae, former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin mentioned V (BTS).

Min Hee Jin shared: "V sometimes calls me from the army. He is a very smart person and has a bright personality. When things happen to me, he calls and asks, 'Are you okay?'

Even on my birthday, he sent me a congratulatory message early in the morning. His kindness and warmth touched me a lot.”

V and Min Hee Jin became close when they collaborated on V’s solo album “Layover” released last September, before he enlisted in the military. However, Min Hee Jin’s story has raised suspicions of violating military discipline.

According to Sports Kyunghyang, a social media account with ID *** revealed that he had submitted a complaint to the Ministry of National Defense regarding V (BTS).

This person explained that Min Hee Jin's birthday is December 16, and V enlisted on December 11, 2023. Thus, the message was sent just 5 days after V enlisted. This person suspected that V was given the privilege of using a cell phone during his 5 weeks of basic training, because he is a Kpop idol.

This account is believed to be a fan of the group LE SSERAFIM, as it frequently posts content about LE SSRAFIM. The account also tends to defend HYBE, criticize NewJeans and former CEO Min Hee Jin.

However, V's fans have refuted the complaint. They pointed out that since July 2023, the South Korean military has allowed new conscripts to use their mobile phones for 1 hour on weekends and holidays, during basic training.

Min Hee Jin's birthday is on Saturday, so that's when V gets to use his phone.
