The second season of the hit horror series “Squid Game” premiered on December 26 on Netflix globally.
The film introduces viewers to many new characters, including many actors who are also Kpop idols in real life such as T.O.P (Big Bang), Im Si Wan (ZE:A), Jo Yuri (fromis_9 and IZ*ONE)...
With season 2 ending in suspense and season 3 confirmed to be released this year, netizens are expecting more new characters to be introduced. Many suspect one of them is BTS's male idol V (Kim Taehyung).
For years, ARMYs (BTS fans) have suspected that V would join the cast of “Squid Game”. During BTS’s 2021 “Permission to Dance On Stage - Live Play” concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, USA, V caused a stir when he appeared in the masked bodyguard costume from the movie “Squid Game”.
In addition, V and the main actor Lee Jung Jae have a close relationship, the two of them still hang out together occasionally. V is also friends with Im Si Wan - who participated in "Squid Game 2".
Now, ARMY's suspicions have grown even more after Netflix accidentally revealed June 27, 2025 as the release date of “Squid Game 3,” in an edited trailer posted to YouTube.
ARMYs noted that V's most recent Instagram post caption reads "27 v2," a mysterious sign. V's discharge date is scheduled for June 10 this year, which perfectly matches the release month of "Squid Game 3."
Recently, in an interview with BuzzFeed, two “Squid Game” actors Lee Jung Jae and Wi Ha Joon were asked about the rumor that V (BTS) will appear in the upcoming film. But they just laughed and did not comment.
Lee Jung Jae briefly said, “I can’t say anything about that.” His vague statement led many netizens to believe that V would indeed make a special appearance in “Squid Game 3.”
