In the episode aired on June 27 of KBS2TV's variety show "Heart on Wheels", actors Yang Dong Geun, Park Gyu Young and Wi Ha Joon of the hit series "Squid Game" appeared as guests and shared sincere conversations when visiting the peaceful island of Daeeijakdo.
The host of Boom mentioned that Wi Ha Joon was honored as one of the 25 most attractive men in the world and praised his toned figure, which was achieved through regular practice.
Wi Ha Joon later shared his exercise routine: "For the first time in a year and a half, I stopped weight training. My arm was too big and it wasnt suitable for the role. He added that he currently focuses mainly on martial arts and cardio exercises to better suit his character.
In the program, behind-the-scenes stories about the audition for Squid Game were also revealed. Park Gyu Young said that she sent a video directly to the production company and was then called in for a direct audition.
Sharing about the casting process for Jun Ho, Wi Ha Joon said, "At first, I visited the production company just to greet, and it turned out that Jun Ho was the only role that no one had accepted. They heard my voice and asked me to audition.
I thought it would be a normal session of session doc, but the director and producer were there. I tend to remember all my lines before audition, and luckily, that works for me.
Wi Ha Joon also frankly shared his feelings about the resounding success of Squid Game globally: At first, I couldnt enjoy it at all. I was really nervous. I hate feeling disappointed, so I try not to expect."
But Wi Ha Joon's thinking changed around the time of Squid Game 2s press conference.
I have enjoyed this event the most in my life. I even made air kisses, the actor said about him completely embracing this moment.
Park Gyu Young added: I think he is always the type of person who likes to enjoy everything. I was really worried, but he helped me a lot.
