Nghe An - Although the school has arranged shuttle buses and organized semi-boarding meals, on the morning of September 14, there were still 138 students in Tien Son who had not come to school.

On September 14, Mr. Dau Viet Trieu - Principal of Quynh Tam Primary School, Quynh Tam commune, Nghe An province said that the school has implemented a plan to transport students from the Tien Son school point area to the main school for studying.

However, out of a total of 166 students previously studying at Tien Son point, only 28 students came to school on the same morning. Thus, there are still 138 students who have not gone to school.

The number of students who have come to school belongs to grades from grades 1 to 5 and are received and arranged to study according to the plan by the school.

Previously, after parents reflected on difficulties related to the suspension of operation of Tien Son school point, the school and local authorities agreed to arrange vehicles to pick up and drop off students.

According to the plan, 3 vehicles are mobilized to take students from the Tien Son area to school in the morning and take them back after school.

The school also organizes semi-boarding meals so that students can study all day, limiting parents having to travel many times.

Mr. Dau Viet Trieu said that although support plans have been implemented, the number of students returning to school is still small. The school is continuing to coordinate with local authorities, police, military forces and related units to each family to propagate and mobilize parents to bring their children back to class.

As Lao Dong Newspaper has reported, previously, from the beginning of the new school year, hundreds of students who used to study at Tien Son school point have not come to school because parents have not agreed with the plan to stop operating the satellite school point and transfer students to the main school or branch of Quynh Tam Primary School.

At one point, 149 students were recorded not coming to class.

Parents believe that the change of school location makes the travel distance longer, causing difficulties in picking up and dropping off, especially for young students.

On September 11, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, along with the working delegation and Quynh Tam commune authorities, directly dialogued with parents in Tien Son village.

According to information at the meeting, Tien Son school point has 5 level 4 classrooms, put into use in 1998. After many years, the facilities have deteriorated, of which 3 rooms are assessed as high-risk, not ensuring safety for teachers and students.

After the dialogue, the locality and the school deployed a shuttle bus and semi-boarding meal plan. However, by the morning of September 14, most students in the Tien Son area had not returned to class.
